With the weather offering some of the best playing conditions for a number of weeks everyone involved was looking forward to a good game.
With the game getting under way Brook set the game tempo to which Portsmouth couldn’t maintain, within a couple of minutes Brook had broken the defence to score on the wing.
Brook dominated in the first few scrums leading to Portsmouth changing player positions around in the tight five, this then evened the scrums up. Big Tony Mac continuing on from his best game the week before, getting himself around the pitch more week on week.
A back row made up of Jack, Chad and Ryan made sure the little ball Portsmouth got didn’t go far. Dan Wade, having one of his better games at fly-half with his centre partner Phippard outside him, moved the ball well when they caught it. Dan was seen to make a 25m run before dropping it this week (no tackler in sight) well done Dan.
Brook scored a number of tries in the first half which was a great team effort, the number of tries that came through great support play and soft hands. It was a pleasure to watch.
When the second half kicked off it was the individual’s time to shine, with Portsmouth heads dropping the gaps began to open. Nathan, Ryan, Jake, Dan, Rick, George and Phippard all made good ground when on the ball. Again within a number of minutes from the start Brook had scores again. At one point it became more of Portsmouth kick the ball to Millbrook forwards whom would run the ball in twice, pass to a back in space who would run and score.
The Portsmouth fly half then decided to cut the middle men out by kicking the ball directly to the Brooks backs……….who would run and score.
Great effort lads well done.
Match highlights - Tony Mac getting tackled while not on the pitch and Charlie getting his first two tries for the mighty green and reds.
